The Battle of Manzikert

The third episode of the season sets up stage for the Battle of Manzikert while being an important part of the Seljuk Empire. As a ruler, Alparslan’s preparations for the confrontation of the Seljuks with the Byzantine Empire is shown. As such, the episode is centered on the aspects of the management and preparation for such a serious war. An effective use of leadership traits is portrayed through Alparslan’s relationship with his commanders and encouraging the military squad. As the preparation period of the unfolding battle this sequence is shown as the decisive stage during which Alparslan, the main character of the show, a visionary leader and a capable military strategist, successfully prepares the field for the battle of his reign. 

 The fourth episode in the show retells the bloody History of the Battle of Manzikert. Confrontational scenes, or scenes of the final battle, are rendered keenly, focusing on Alparslan’s strategy. Slaughterhouse, the episode clearly demonstrates the effects Alparslan’s performances and analysis have on successfully defeating Byzantine force and attaining major power advantage. This victory helps Alparslan in fixing his position inside the Seljuk Empire along with this, people also recognize him as a powerful military genius. Thus, the episode acts as a proof that Alparslan was a great leader as well as the significance of the battle in determining the future of the empire.
